You’re Helping Her Plant Seeds For The Future

Ameria is using her gardens to engage the children and youth in her neighbourhood.

Ameria Kevina, 70, grows mainly tomatoes and sells to earn extra income. Initially, she joined UFP to grow vegetables for home consumption.

She soon realized the potential to make it an income generating project, and as a result, she turned all her compound into a tomato garden.

She has since engaged children and the idle youth in her neighborhood to participate in her tomato gardening in order to promote their love for agriculture.

Ameria is using her garden to plant seeds for the future. These children are developing practical skills. And by giving the youth a project to work on, they are less likely to get into trouble.
